Come to find out that his ups and downs with his behavior and anxiety, impulse, handwriting changes, tics, muscle and joint pain, rage and emotional labilities were from the autoimmune disease, Pandas. Before finding this out for sure in the Spring of 2017, Dr. McGowin also found out that our son had functionally low cholesterol, Pyroluria, and was positive for Coxsackie B type 4. She was so thorough in her testing and also found that our son had mitochondrial dysfunction, low in glutathione, low methylation pathways and low levels of omega three fatty acids which can contribute to high inflammation and impact mood.
After getting our son's results back we had a plan in place and I will forever be grateful for her willingness to dig deep and do the hard work to truly find out what was going on with our boy. We are getting our son back and Dr. McGowin played a huge role in finding out the real issues that were going on in his body.
